Overview
SONOFF SNZB-02DR2 Zigbee temperature humidity sensor is the AirGuard TH, an indoor climate monitor with a 3.6 inch LCD you can read across the room. It shows live temperature and humidity, the day’s high and low, battery level, and a comfort mark when the room is outside the range you set. Pair it to a Zigbee hub and the same numbers land in the app, with charts and alerts.
Accuracy is ±0.2 °C from −20 °C to 60 °C, and ±2% RH. The screen resolves temperature to 0.1 °C and humidity to 1%. The app shows humidity to 0.1%. A double press on the button switches °C and °F. Default reporting is a change of about 0.2 °C or 1% RH, and both thresholds can be widened in the app so the batteries last longer. If a room always reads a little high against a known thermometer, the app carries a calibration offset for temperature and humidity.
There are two ways to use the SONOFF SNZB-02DR2 Zigbee temperature humidity sensor. Proximity mode links the sensor straight to a phone over Bluetooth in the eWeLink app. No gateway, useful for a quick check in the room you are standing in, and for firmware updates over Bluetooth. Zigbee mode needs a hub. That is the one you want for history, remote readings, and automations. With a SONOFF gateway the screen can also show temperature and humidity from another sensor on the same hub, so one display covers two rooms. A nursery screen can show the nursery and the passage. A shop counter can show the shop floor and the store room.
In eWeLink you get up to about six months of records, max, min, and average curves, dew point, VPD, comfort level, threshold notifications, and data export. Push an alert when a nursery goes over 26 °C, a cellar climbs past 70% humidity, or a server cupboard drifts out of range. Use the reading to run a fan, a dehumidifier, an air conditioner, or a heater through a linked switch. Dew point and VPD are the extra numbers that matter in a greenhouse or a cigar and wine store, where humidity on its own does not tell you if the air is actually safe for the stock.
The SONOFF SNZB-02DR2 Zigbee temperature humidity sensor pairs with SONOFF Zigbee gateways and eWeLink, including iHost, NSPanel Pro, and ZBBridge-P. In Home Assistant it works through Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA with a compatible coordinator such as a Sonoff Dongle Max or an SMLight stick. SmartThings and other Zigbee 3.0 hubs that support the device can run it too. Alexa and Google Home routines go through a supported hub, not direct from the sensor. It is not a Wi-Fi device and it will not join a router on its own.
Power is two AAA (LR03) batteries. The case is white PC and ABS, 95 × 70 × 18.2 mm, about 99.3 g with batteries fitted. It stands on the included foot or hangs from the hole on the back. Indoor only, −20 °C to 60 °C, 5–95% RH non-condensing. Certifications are CE, FCC, and RoHS. FCC ID is 2APN5-SNZB02DR2.
Good spots are a bedroom, nursery, lounge, office, wine or food store, greenhouse bench, garage workshop, and a showroom demo. Keep it off direct sun, away from a geyser vent, and clear of the airflow from an air conditioner, or the reading will track the vent instead of the room. In a Johannesburg house that swings from a cold morning to a hot afternoon, one sensor in the living area and one in the bedrooms is usually enough to drive the fans and the geyser schedule with real numbers instead of a guess.
In the box: AirGuard TH sensor, desk stand, and user manual. Batteries may or may not be included depending on the pack, so check the carton. Pairing is a 5 second hold on the button. The Zigbee icon flashes slowly for about 180 seconds. If it is not added in 3 minutes it leaves pairing mode. A single press wakes the display.
Specifications: model SNZB-02DR2, AirGuard series, Zigbee 3.0 (IEEE 802.15.4) plus Bluetooth proximity mode, 3.6 inch LCD, temperature accuracy ±0.2 °C, humidity accuracy ±2% RH, 2× AAA, 95 × 70 × 18.2 mm, 99.3 g with batteries, indoor.
Use the SONOFF SNZB-02DR2 Zigbee temperature humidity sensor where you want a number on the wall and the same number in Home Assistant or eWeLink. The screen works on its own. Remote history, alerts, and automations need a Zigbee hub.
