Why Untamed Tech started
Smart homes felt out of reach for ordinary South African families. Wynand founded Untamed Tech so everyday homeowners could enjoy automation that is practical, supported locally, and genuinely affordable.
The problem we set out to fix
Imported gadgets arrived with little local guidance, confusing apps, and no one nearby who understood Home Assistant. People wanted control of lighting, energy, and security, not another unfinished DIY project.

With decades in IT and solution design plus years in home automation, our team bridges retail and real installs: the right Shelly or SONOFF device, clean configuration, and Home Assistant setups that stick.
How we evolved
