The Pill by Shelly

The Pill by Shelly is a compact USB-C powered Wi-Fi and Bluetooth sensor interface that brings temperature, humidity, voltage, and digital I/O monitoring into your smart home system. At just 26 × 19.95 × 8.5 mm and 3 grams, it fits almost anywhere and runs on a standard 5 V USB-C supply while using less than 1 W.

It offers plug-and-play support for DS18B20 temperature probes (up to five with the optional splitter) or a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor. Built-in capabilities include three configurable 3.3 V logic-level digital inputs or outputs and a 0–2.5 V DC voltmeter that expands to 0–30 V with the Analog add-on. Optional accessories add solid-state relay control, terminal blocks, or Modbus RS485 communication.

As a Shelly Gen3 device it supports local actions, schedules, scripting, and virtual components. Dual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity lets it act as a Bluetooth Gateway for Shelly BLU devices and integrates cleanly with Home Assistant, MQTT, HTTP, and WebSocket.

Typical uses include multi-point aquarium or pool temperature tracking, greenhouse or server-cabinet climate monitoring, low-voltage sensor reading, and simple DC load control when paired with the SSR add-on.
